Microchip
Dogs and cats imported to Germany are required to be microchipped with an ISO 11784/11785 compliant 15 digit pet microchip.
Rabies Vaccination
A valid rabies vaccination is required for dogs and cats entering Germany. The Rabies vaccination must be administered within the acceptable timeframe after the microchip implant.
Other Vaccinations or treatments
General health vaccinations are recommended for travel to Germany.
Rabies Titer Blood Test
A passing rabies titer blood test result (>=0.5 IU/ml) by an approved lab is required to enter Germany with dogs and cats. The blood test must follow EU regulations of when and where the blood is tested. Prior to import and after the rabies titer blood test there is a three month waiting period prior to import.
Health certificate
All dogs and cats entering Germany must have a health check and health certificate endorsed by a government vet prior to the flight. The timeframe for this is dependent on the country of export.
Import Permit
Import permits are not required for dogs or cats entering Germany.
Banned Breeds
There are no import restrictions for any breeds entering Germany.
Quarantine
There is no quarantine for healthy dogs or cats that are imported to Germany according to proper import regulations.
Preparation Time
We recommend you start preparing your dog or cat atleast four months in advance of your planned flight date. Puppies and Kittens may take longer to prepare.
