If you are planning to make Aliyah, return or travel to Israel this summer with your pets please take notice: The ‘Pet Flight Embargo’ season is about to begin!
Summer is just around the corner and the aviation industry is getting ready for THE HOT SEASON. Pretty soon, airline carriers and airports across the globe will be dealing with great pressure as a result of a peak in the number of tourists traveling abroad. That naturally leads to over booking and extremely long queues. Fore those of you who plan on traveling with pets – another challenge awaits you.
During the hot season, some airlines have a pet embargo policy which basically means that they will not ship your pet as excess baggage in order to avoid the risk of shipping pets under severe weather conditions (heat, heat wave etc.).
Dr. Eytan Kreiner, founder and CEO at Terminal4Pet – The Israeli Pet Travel Agency: “Pet embargo policy does not mean that you can not ship your pet abroad only that shipping a pet throughout the summer is a bit more challenging. If you plan on relocating along with your pet – make sure to check that the airline you chose does not have a pet embargo policy and if so, that it is not on the date of your flight. In the event that the airline you choose doesn’t allow pets on board, you have two options ahead of you: 1. shipping your pet separately as cargo. 2. shipping your pet at a different airline with the help of a professional pet currier.”
Terminal4pets is here for you throughout the summer 24/7 to help you travel and relocate safely & comfortably with your pets.
